WEEK 15 of NEXT:
Golden Smog – Another Fine Day (Another Fine Day)
It’s been 8 years since the last Golden Smog get together. Recorded in Spain and in Minnesota. Because of the busy schedule of the five members it could be another 8 years before another Smog cd so enjoy this one.

Guster – Manifest Destiny (Ganging up on the Sun)
No longer a trio. No longer does the drummer play with his hands but they sound better then ever.

Richard Buckner – Town (Meadow)
the 8th full-length. Love that voice – a soothing drawl that’s somehowhaunting and buoyant all at once. Due out in Sept

Ryan Adams – Black Clouds (Unreleased Song-Piety Street Studios New Orleans)
I know this song has been out there for awhile but it has never officially been released so I hope you’ll forgive me for not playing an entirely new track but that wouldn’t last for long. From the man himself "First record is getting mixed and mastered while we are on the road. Its the first of three. Its solo. Its called "Blackhole". Johnny on drums, me on everythinbg else. lots of raw guitar and kinda sexy/ damaged tunes. My favorite easily."

Sexy + damaged + Ryan Adams = some of my favorite songs in the world

My Morning Jacket with Eddie Vedder – It Makes No Difference (Band Cover)
My Morning Jacket Live at Continental Airlines Arena on (June 3, 2006) My Morning Jacket recently trekked to Woodstock, N.Y., to record a cover of the Band's "It Makes No Difference" for a star-studded Band tribute album, due Jan. 9 via Savoy Jazz. The catch: the song was put to tape at the studio of the Band's drummer, Levon Helm, bringing MMJ's members face to face with one of their musical idols.

The New Tragedies – Lipstick Kiss (VanityVanity)
The New Tragedies are a married couple (Aaron and Bev Weidner) doing the chilled out indie-rock thing (with a pinch of alt-country). Tons of info and a full stream of the new record over at http://www.thenewtragedies.com/.

Fink – Pretty Little Thing (Pretty little thing ep)
Mellow Folky blues not too unlike Everlast…Great tune about one moment in life. Just seeing that person walk by—you’ve seen the type. Not sure where he got the name Fink but if it’s from Barton Fink I will be that much more impressed.

Los Lonely Boys – My Loneliness (Sacred)
fans may want to shell out the additional $6-$7 and pick up the deluxe edition that features a DVD of live performances and behind the scenes studio bits.

The Sounds – Ego (Dying to Say This To You)
This is a put the top down and head down to the beach kind of cd. They are from Sweden and this is their second cd and it seems to me they have found their voice.

The Raconteurs – Store Bought Bones (BBC Sessions)
In Jack White news look for the White stripes to air on the Simpsons on Sept 17th. In the eposide Bart attempts to become a jazz drummer. The band now calls Nashville home. Also during this BBC session they recorded a Bowie cover that they are including on their next single”Hands”

James Hunter – People Gonna Talk (People Gonna Talk)
Sam Cooke- and Jackie Wilson-influenced vocals and the band’s fat horn-driven rhythm & blues should remind 21st century audiences the joys of early American soul music and rhythm & blues. If you like this look for his debut album which is being re-released it’s called “Believe what I say”
