Next Week 48

If you missed last nights broadcast NEXT will air again on Sunday night at 8 on 107.1 The Peak's website.

Bright Eyes – Reinvent The Wheel (Four Winds EP)
A quick one for the fans while they await the new full length due out later in April. I wouldn’t say this is a EP just fans either. This is probably his most accessible music to date. He has slowly been weeding out his quirks.

Neil Young – Journey Through the Past (Live a Massey hall 1971)
Recorded in Canada thus the loud cheer when the Country was name dropped in the tune. The story here is Neil did an acoustic show at Massey Hall in Toronto in 1970, debuting much of the material that would eventually show up on Harvest. The set that night was so good that Neil's producer implored him to put out this concert, rather than the album which eventually became Harvest. Toronto.

The Fratellis – Chelsea Dagger (Costello Music)
This is your summer time cd. Pure Fun. Different sources tell of different origins of the band's name. Some claim it derives from the 1985 movie The Goonies; however, the band denied this --it would appear that the name is taken from bassist Barry, whose original surname is Fratelli, the other members of the band simply adopted that pseudonym. Ironically, the word "fratelli" in Italian means "brothers". Two Eps and this Full length.

K-OS – Sunday Morning (Atlantis – Hymns for Disco)
Think The cheesey 80s tune Mickey and Outkast have a love baby.
“male Lauryn Hill” comparisons are worthy and I like him a lot more when he isn’t rapping…yes he raps. He is from Canada and from a pretty religious family. This song is about him going out and getting popular yet still not feeling complete until Sunday.

Bikeride – Being for the Benefit of Mr Kite (Beatles Cover)

Feist – My Moon My Man (The Reminder)

Also we had a special treat. Goat came to Acme a few mornings ago and recorded a NEXT concert for us. Sponsored by Snapple. That is what you heard on the second half of NEXT.

More later
