NEXT week 47

Not many videos this week...I must be getting out there. Listen to the rebroadcast of NEXT on Sunday at 8pm at 107.1 The Peak.

Just Jinjer – Home (Just Jinjer)
A South African band that now calls Orange County home. This is their 6th cd and they are the best selling artist in South African.

The Lemonheads – Baby’s Home (Lemonheads)
Don’t even bring up the pretty-boy image Evan Dando, founder of The Lemonheads, has held since 1993, when People magazine christened him one of its 50 Most Beautiful People. On his first tour in 10 years, Dando is concentrating on the band’s eighth album

Sloan – I Understand (Never hear the End of It)
I think some of you didn’t believe me when I said I would keep playing one of my favorite Canadian bands until you starting buying their cds…c’mon people this is a double cd.

Mighty Fairly – It’s a Shame (Perfectly good Airplanes)
A trio two lads and a lady from the land of lakes, mosquitoes and hockey. Minneapolis. Catchy poppy tunes with a bit of TMBGs

Elliott Smith – Jealous Guy (John Lennon cover)
Live from the Black Cat in DC in 1998

Radio Moscow – Whatever happened (Radio Moscow)
If you like the Black Keys you will probably enjoy this band from Iowa. In fact at a Black Key gig they get a tape to Dan Auerbach of the Black Keys and he likes it some much-- he let these guys record this cd in his home studio…how cool is that? Or maybe after hearing this tune it should be how heavy is that.

The Killers – Read My Mind (Pet Shop Boys Stars Are Blazing Mix) (Read My Mind EP)
Do I really need to say more then Remix of the Killers by the Pet Shop boys?

Papercuts – Outside Looking In (Can’t Go Back)
When I say Papercut you think painful and annoying. When you hear Papercuts, A band from San Francisco, it comes across as something completely different—they are more beautiful.

Ray LaMontagne – Empty (Till the Sun turns Black)
This soft-spoken, Maine-dwelling troubadour does not like interviews. And he has no interest in filming a music video. (He wouldn't be able to watch it anyway--he hasn't owned a TV since he was 19.) The business side of the music industry bothers him. No wonder I love this guy.
This is a pretty cool homemade vid of some of the tune.

Elvis Perkins – the Dumps (All Night Without Love EP)
Quiet beauty from the son of the actor probably most famous for being a murderer that dresses up like his mother. Warning if you do pick up his full length, Ash Wednesday it is about 9-11 His mother was on one of the planes. Its melancholy is a lot to swallow but it is a ride worth taking

More later Bro
