NEXT Week 42

Sloan – Another Way I could Do It (Never Hear the End of It)
I will get playing these guys from Canada until you wake up and start buying their cds. This is their 8th studio cd and contains 30 songs. It’s like a power pop version of The Minutemen’s Double Nickels on the Dime.

Norah Jones – Sinkin’ Soon (Not Too Late)
The Woman you probably want to hate but with every cd and every listen you find it impossible to do. I might be reading into things but I think this tune is about New Orleans. Simply put if you dig Norah Jones then you will find plenty to dig on this cd too.

The Early Years – The Simple Solution (The Early Years)
3 guys from the UK. This is cd was released in Europe in Sept of last year but just got to the States. For fans of Feedback and drones with a nice strong back beat. New EP coming out in Feb.

Fields – Brittlesticks (7 from the Village)
If we feel the need to pigeonhole I guess we could call them a very modern Crosby Stills and Nash. They are a 5 piece from London and working on their full length now which may be more Muse like then CSN ish if the rumors on the interwebs are true.

Youth Group – Forever Young (Casino Twilight Dogs)
From Sydney Australia. This is their third cd. Cover of an Alphaville song.

Husky Rescue – Diamonds in the Sky (Ghost is Not Real)
There is loud and soft on this album. Sometimes within the same song. This song washes over you. 2nd CD from this Finland band.

Paolo Nutini – Rewind (These Streets)
He is a very talented 20 year old from Scotland. He started singing in his school choir. He wanted to be a goalkeeper in football or as we call it Soccer but he couldn’t deny his singing talents.

Tin Hat – Dead Season (The Sad Machinery of Spring)
They used to be called Tin Hat Trio but when you add a permentant member of your group -- it’s time for a name change. So they dropped the Trio part of their name. Still jazzy and still cool though.

The Shins – Sea Legs (Wincing the Night Away)
They get on their inner Beck on this tune. Great CD and don't let anyone tell you any different.

Jesse Malin – Megan Don’t Know (Don’t Let Them Take Your Down EP)
Old punks don’t die they play alt-country music. New CD soon. On this 4 song EP is two tunes that wouldn't be on the ablum.

120 Days – Get Away (120 Days)
They are not afraid to go for it all. Great first cd full of keyboard-y dance rock. Or RAWK.

Well we did pretty good until the end there with the vids.

More later
