Food, finished a book and here let me get that door

I have found yet another person I'd love to have beer with. Steve Martin. I just finished his latest book "Born Standing Up". I just love his writing style. Simple (in a good way) and straightforward. It is a very quick, easy read. Might be a decent beach vacation book. My next book? Just to make sure that I never finish another book this year I picked up Johnson's "Tree of Smoke". It took a bit to "get in to it" but now it's starting to smooth out.

So last Friday my sister was in town so we headed out to Babbo.

A Waste of time

A great waste of time. So I haven't browsed a bookstore in quite some time. I stumbled upon "The Real Animal House". It lists its self a Mostly Lucid Memior. I love that and relate. I just started reading it and you may be saying..."really...do I need to re-live this? I've seen the movie about 20 times." Well yes you do. It is a quick easy read plus if your wife or girlfriend reads a few passages she might just gain a bit of understanding of you. Oh plus my hometown of Palatine IL gets named in the book too. Always cool when that happens.



The British are coming and this time America is listening.

If you are a band don't send Sony/BMG a hard copy of your latest CD. They want you to sign up at their blog/website. This may be the smartest thing I've heard that the record companies are doing.

Rethinking Sting by Slate.

I just finished watching the Departed. Martin Scorsese will win for this. Why? Because like Denzel Washington the Academy will make up for all the years that he should have won and give him the Naked Man with Arms Crossed for a good(actually better than good) but not quite great movie and definitely not his best. Leo was awesome in it. Jack is too.

Surprise I finished a few books. The Long Tail and latest from Kurt Vonnegut "A Man With A Country". The Long Tail is very good read. Quick -- for a business book and eye opening. The Vonnegut book is a very, very quick read. He is not very happy either. In fact, beyond mad. Luckily the funny is still there.
