NEXT WEEK 45

NEXT is a new music show at 107.1 The Peak and it's brought to you by Snapple. You can listen on Wednesday nights at 11 (ET) or the rebroadcast on Sunday nights at 8 (ET). We also have a newsletter. I send out this playlist we a few other tidbits and links too. Check out this weeks playlist below. Thanks.

Idlewind – No Emotion (Make Another World )
Scottish rockers Idlewild formed in Edinburgh in late 1995. CD number 5 which should be on shelves sometime soon.

The Damnwells – Accidental Man (Air Stereo)
Overall a bit of a sophomore slump as the rely too much on the ballads instead of the head bopping that made Bastards of the Beat a favorite of mine.

The Slip – Life In Disguise (Eisenhower)
A trio and two of them are brothers…met in Boston in the early 90s. They started out as a Jam band but lately have been floating ever closer to Indie Pop. I didn't even know that I was this cool...this song was in Grey's Anatomy.

Mere Mortals – 13th Floor (Rebel Radio)
3 guys and girl on bass that are based in LA. They are an unsigned and just a very good straight forward rock band.

Feist – That Girl (Kinks Cover)
New CD coming out in May.

Jennifer O’Connor – Complicated Rhyme (Over the Mountain, Across the Valled and Back to the Stars
Her career began in Atlanta but ended up leaving that band moving to NYC and going solo.

John Mellencamp – Ghost Towns Along the Highway (Freedom’s Road)
He has been pleasing fans for almost 30 years and 22 albums and this cd is really no different. All that you love about Mellencamp is in this cd. I love this tune.

The Whitest Boy Alive – Don’t Give Up (Dreams)
the whitest boy alive started as an electronic dance music project in 2003. it has slowly developed into a band without any programmed elements. Side project of Kings of Convenience’s Erlend Øye

Jill Cunniff – Eye Candy (City Beach)
Remember Luscious Jackson? Well she is the former lead singer of said group. She returns after 6 years and 2 kids with a delightfully breezy bunch of tunes. City Beach is dedicated to municipal beaches everywhere, a portion of proceeds from this CD will go to benefit the Surfrider Foundation.

The Magic Numbers – Take a Chance (Those that Broke)
How is this band still together? Two sets of siblings in one band. That is asking a lot. Maybe it’s the glorious pop music they make that keeps them together.

Macy Gray – Finally Made Me Happy (Big)
Her mom knows her as Natalie Renee McIntyre. Big comes out on March 27th. She founded the M. Gray Music Academy in North Hollywood, California which provides affordable after-school and weekend music classes for the youth in the area. And also a clothing line for curvy girls called HUMPS.

Young Love – Underneath the Night Sky (Too Young to Fight It)
A young man from Brooklyn out on tour now and this is his first cd. It’s where dance and pop meet. You can also find Dan Keyes in the currently on hiatus band Recover.

Man I must of dug deep this week. Not many vids on YouTube of these tunes. Enjoy all the same. Sign up for the newsletter and you'll get more love.

More later
