No sophmore slump. Best second albums according to Rolling Stone. May I add PJ's vs and the Pixies Doolittle. And Wilco's Being There and with the Replacements Hootenanny it was a huge step up and the sign of the great tunes were coming. I wouldn't put it in a "Best 2nd album list" though. Feel free to add more.

Austin-based Spoon is heading out this summer on what might be best described as a mini-excursion. The band, who released Gimme Fiction in 2005, is set to perform at the Pitchfork Music Festival on the same day as Tapes 'N Tapes and Yo La Tengo. Then they're off to share the stage with the Mates Of State and Death Cab For Cutie for five California shows.
